Dream Island - Discover Skokholm

"To dwell alone with birds and flowers where they were plentiful and undisturbed"

Dream Island is a documentary based on the magical Skokholm island, located in Pembrokeshire, Southwest wales. It is a haven for marine birds that use this island as their breeding grounds over spring and summer. Puffins, Razorbills, Guillemots and Shearwaters are found here in their thousands, Skokholm is also home to 3 species of Gulls, Fulmar and the mysterious Storm Petrel. Dive into the underwater realm to discover another world where jellyfish and grey seals dance in the ebb and flow.

Back in 1927 a young naturalist 'Ronald Lockely' set out on an adventure into this island to first discover its beauty. Inspired by his book 'Dream Island', this film looks at the wonders of Skokholm through his eyes and passion!

Join us as we go on a small yet a wondrous journey into the 'Dream Island'

'Killing Peat' is a short documentary about the importance and conservation of Peatlands in the United Kingdom. Jenny Bennion from the Lancashire Wildlife Trust is a Peatlands communication officer and here she sends about a message about the depleting Peatlands and how it affects the current day issues like Climate Change, Global Warming, Forestfires etc. This video also contributed towards the active Peat Free campaign that was run by the NAtional Wildlife trust.

This Documentary is a portrait of Lunt Meadows nature reserve, located very closely to Liverpool and Formby in the northwest of England. Lunt Meadows is a haven for wildlife, especially Barn Owls and Kestrels. I have tried to portray the importance of such habitats which are the last few strongholds that supports a number of rare and iconic species in the UK!

Join us as we take you on a day long journey in Lunt Meadows and experience the everyday drama in the natural world unfold!

Buffer Wars narrates a story that highlights the problems caused due to Human-Elephant interaction in Karnataka, India.
The documentary shows an essence of Wildlife of south India which is home to about 10,000 Elephants and Crores of people. The developmental changes over the years has bought these gentle giants face to face with humans in villages, fields and plantations. This often results in chaos and even fatalities on either sides.
The conclusion shows the thin line of bonding shared by humans and elephants over the past centuries. And how that bond can maybe reduce the conflict and co-existence will be a fine model for survival of all species on this Earth.

An Ornithophile is a 4-minute short documentary about a person who is obsessed with Wildlife, especially Birds in this case. Growing up in the Solomon Islands Dr. Jamie Gundry was already connected to nature by the time he set foot in Great Britain. Jamie went to college where he mostly studied Wildlife, Biology and has a Ph.D. in high-speed Photography. Jamie says he did try to make a full living out of his passion in his thirties but realized in process that he would also be happy teaching about wildlife, biology and photography to students and pass on his knowledge to the next generations. This short film is mainly based in Pennington Flash Nature Reserve in Wigan. This is one of Jamie’s favourite places, famous for serval bird watching hides, Pennington is famous for Passerine and Wading Birds, people from all over the northwest of England visit this gem of a place to watch birds. Jamie loves Puffins and one can see in this film a brief spell of his Puffin Photography collection. He also describes some of his favourite moments in the wild and about the favourite photographs he has taken over the years. Jamie wants to win the Wildlife photographer of the year award but is yet to enter the competition. So, join me for 4 minutes as I take you through the life of a man obsessed with Wildlife, Birds and Teaching which made me call him ‘An Ornithophile’.
